To Invoke or Evoke the Goddess

Updated: Nov 27, 2022

When discussing communication with the goddesses, "invocation" and "evocation" are similar terms but deliver different results in the magical world. For those with much experience in their magical practice, there is a difference and that can include how one prepares to invite the spirit goddess in and for what purpose.

To "invoke" a goddess is to call her forth, to call upon her, often with an incantation, to communicate and establish a relationship. Invocation may involve a ritual or offering. In essence, you invite the goddess into your home and life, almost as if she is stepping into your shoes. Drawing down the Moon is a classic example.

To "evoke" a goddess is to conjure her spirit, to bring to your mind, to ask her to work beside and with you for a specific purpose and outcome. Think of it as more task oriented, where she may then be thanked and released from duty when the job is done.

Depending on circumstances and intentions, you may do either. However, be advised it is best to invoke or evoke only 1 goddess at a time, so choose wisely based on your needs, intentions, and feelings about the goddess.

Let's explore the Goddess Realm. As we start our

journey, remember:

ree

  • Honor your goddess within -- and the goddess within each other

  • Honor the goddess you choose, or the one who chooses you, with offerings and gratitude

  • Honor the Earth as Nature goddess. Honor the Moon as Mother goddess.

  • Believe in your goddess power.

Goddesses of Love and Beauty

The goddesses who were worshipped for love and their beauty were extraordinary creatures who possessed self - confidence, independence and awareness of their sexuality and sensuality, as well as great passion and pride. Their beauty, in a sense, radiates from their core and is a reflection of all around them. They can teach us about many things - not just physical beauty, for as they say, that is in the eye of the beholder. These ladies were also fierce protectors, trusted confidantes, and worthy partners and possessed strong personalities.

Able to light our lives with their mere presence, they can help us feel youthful in body, mind, and spirit; beautiful; and hopeful - with the ease and confident that come with those traits. They promise the unending joy of romance and love and offer the strength to withstand its failings. They can help us refine our independent spirits and honor our intentions. Pamper you inner goddess as much as you need to feel adored. While decidedly feminine, their spirits are fierce and courageous.

They are sure of their place in the world and their influence on it, so don't be shy about seeking their help and guidance.
